MPLS & VPLS Consulting Services

SASE Secure Access Service Edge

In this blog, I haven’t taken any time to explain some of the services that SD-WAN-Experts offers our clients.  If you’re interested, read on…

Network Procurement Management

This is the most common service that we provide.  If your network requirements are straightforward, SASE Experts will obtain quotations from all the appropriate carriers to allow you to make an informed decision.  Because we are carrier-neutral, you will be presented with all the options. For instance, for global networks, our pricing analysis will include multi-carrier solutions which have the potential to reduce the cost of global networks by 25% versus an AT&T or Verizon single carrier solution.  These are the options that no carrier will introduce to a client, but if you can save several thousand dollars a month, you should at least know there is an option. SASE Experts obtains pricing from all suitable MPLS and VPLS carriers.  The prices that you get will benefit from our buying volume and experience.

Typically, carriers make their proposals difficult to compare on an apples-for-apples basis.  That is why we do the following:

  • Pricing proposals will be normalized to permit accurate comparison

  • Prices and carrier SLAs will be provided, along with recommendations based on our experience with the different carriers.  The SLA will be compared side-by-side.

  • A carrier meeting will be scheduled and held with the desired carriers.

  • Once a carrier decision is made, SASE Experts will facilitate the contract process and advise language that should be added to protect your interests.  Again, you benefit from our experience.

  • SASE Experts will project manage the implementation process to assure a smooth and stress-free network installation and cut-over.

  • The cost for this service is no reasonable that you wonder why you ever considered managing this process yourself!

Network Analysis and Design

If you are not sure about your network requirements, SASE Experts engineers will analyze your network applications, users and traffic requirements to design a network that will meet your precise requirements. Depending on circumstances, this may require monitoring of your network using SNMP with NTOP and MRTG.  If full redundancy is required, design will include secondary network options, which may include cellular or microwave local loops, if suitable.

Request for Quotation Development and Management

This service is most suitable for companies with more than twenty locations on their network. SASE Experts will work with your team to develop network and service requirements through a needs assessment.

  • From the needs assessment, a ranking scale is created and agreed upon for use in evaluating carrier solutions.

  • An RFQ document is created.

  • SASE Experts manage a vendor meeting to go over the RFQ and answer pertinent questions.

  • When the RFQ responses are received, SASE Experts compiles the data from all the respondents to facilitate comparison and ranking.

  • SASE Experts meets with client to discuss the responses and ranking results.

  • Based on decision made, SASE Experts facilitates contract negotiation and final contracting.

Implementation and Project Management

Implementing an MPLS network can be a complicated and time consuming task.  Most companies have limited resources that make the demands of project management stressful.  It is not unusual for a company to forget to disconnect old circuits, or delay turning on new circuits and waste money unnecessarily as a result.  The costs can be surprisingly large.  SASE Experts can take over the entire process.

  • SASE Experts will manage the installation of all local loops and communicate with the site contacts, as necessary.

  • Arrangements with cable installers to extend demarks to the desired location will be scheduled and managed.

  • Router shipment is scheduled.

  • Depending on your contractual arrangements with the carrier, your router will either be installed by their technician, a third party technician, or your own staff.

  • Once all testing is completed, the cutover is scheduled.

  • Cutover and testing is completed.
